Deep into the wild and still untrodden beauty of the Argentinean Patagonia, right into the Andes, Rio Manso Lodge is located on the bank of Hess Lake and the Manso River - in the Nahuel Huapi National Park, 90 minutes South West of the city of San Carlos de Bariloche.

The wide range of fishing zones close to our lodge, with plenty of fish -due to very little fishing pressure in the area- coupled with the spectacular scenery view of Mount Tronador and Lake Hess and our international service level facilities, will make your visit an unforgettable experience.

LOCATION

The lodge is near the city of S. C. de Bariloche which makes access extremely easy. There are several flights a day connecting this city with Buenos Aires or Santiago (Chile). Upon arrival at the local airport, we will be waiting for you and take you to our lodge (4WD commuting takes approximately 90 minutes).
Rio Manso Lodge is located right in the middle of Argentina’s Lake District, inside an ecologically preserved wet forest.

FACILITIES

The lodge can accommodate 8 anglers in comfortable, cozy rooms (double and single) with private bathroom, Jacuzzi, King or Full size beds and international level comfort. All rooms enjoy a spectacular view to Mount Tronador and Lake Hess.

Our warm living room, where you will enjoy a welcoming fire and every fishing amenity –fly tying bench, a wading room conveniently located by the Lodge’s entrance- together with a comfortable dinning room and bar, will help you relax and enjoy every moment of your stay. Telephone and Internet are also available as well as a Fly Shop fully equipped with flies, rods, reels, lines and all you may need for your stay with us.

SERVICES

Sebastian and Eugenia Graziosi will welcome you upon your arrival. Both our hosts share their passion for this place and a wide knowledge of all the activities you can enjoy during your visit.

Sebastian, who has been a fly fishing guide for 12 years grew up in a family of guides and tradition in the industry of fly fishing, manages our Lodge and heads our team formed by experienced bilingual local guides The Lodge caters mostly to fly fishers. However, non fishing guests are most welcomed and can also enjoy a variety of extra activities, such as guided trekking or hiking excursions through the still virgin areas surrounding the Lodge, climbing to the nearby mounts, and horse riding.

Our food is of the international variety, livened with typical dishes enhanced by our own garden and other home-made delicacies. Our wines are our great pride and we will invite you to share them as we select them from our cellar

The services include transfers to and from Bariloche airport, bed and board, guided fishing, transportation to fishing spots, refreshments, exquisite Argentine wines and spirits, fishing licenses, trekking, hiking, horse riding and boats.

The Lodge is fully active from the beginning of November to the end of April

FLY FISHING

Weather diversity and low fishing pressure make fishing results in the Lodge area quite excellent.

Our programs include many options: you can fish any of the different sections of the Manso River, which runs for 20 miles around our Lodge we can also take you fishing deep into the lake using belly boats or our skiff boats which enable us to access a wide variety of areas which are pristine and literally untouched. This assures us great experiences deep into the majestic National Park being the only ones located in the heart of the area.

You hook into Brook, Brown and Rainbows of remarkable quality, (These trouts were introduced into the area in 1904 and have bred without the intervention of man since then turning wild for many generations) anging from 2 to 4 lbs, with the occasional 8-10 lbs. 15 strikes a day per rod is average.

Fly gear: nine foot single handed 3 to 6 weight rods, floating fast sinking tip lines, 7 to 11 foot tapered leaders ranging from 2X to 6X Flies: streamers, nymphs, dries trout patterns will do the required job.(all these available at the Lodge) Sight fishing for trouts feeding on the surface is quite an unforgettable experience.

At Rio Manso Lodge, we promote catch and release only.
